rd 33 DAEALLINDIAONLINEESSAYCONTEST ONNUCLEARSCIENCE&TECHNOLOGY rd The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) hereby invites students to participate in the “33 DAE All India Online Essay Contest on Nuclear Science & Technology”. DAE has been conducting the Essay Contest for the last 32 years which comprises of a written essay and an oral presentation before a panel of judges at DAE, Mumbai. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the Essay Contest is being organized online to avoid the travel by the students to Mumbai. There shall be no oral presentation. Regular full time students doing graduation in India (after 10+2), in any discipline, in an Indian University or an Institute deemed to be a University. Essays should be submitted by a single author. Any of the topics (A, B & C) given below can be chosen. The length of essay should not exceed 2000 words. Each Essay should give brief introduction about the multifarious achievements of DAE in Basic Sciences and Nuclear Technology and their use for overall societal benefits in the country. It should comprise of an introduction (max. of 350 words), detailed essay (max. of 1500 words) and conclusion ( max. of 150 words). WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? The author of each selected essay will receive a Prize Money of and it will be credited directly to the author's Bank Account. ` 10,000/- Selection/ Certificates/ Prize Money TOPIC B Radioisotope and radiation technologies for the welfare of mankind Please read the following instructions carefully before the submission: 1. There are no charges for registration/participation. 2. It is open for all regular full time students doing Graduation in India (after 10+2), in any discipline, in an Indian University or an Institute deemed to be a University. Those who have completed graduation are not eligible for participation in the contest. 3. Each student can submit only one essay, preferably typed in English or Hindi or in any official Indian Language (Font Size 12 in 1.5 line spacing) 4. The student should submit the clear, scanned copy of the Essay in PDF file format only. The file name should be the student's Aadhar No. preceded with A, B or C as per Topic and as per the FORMAT given below. 5. Submission of two or more essays by any student or the same essay by different Aadhaar Nos. will lead to disqualification. 6. Please note that the Essay must be original and should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. 7. Anyone found violating on others' copyright would be disqualified from the contest. Department of Atomic Energy does not bear any responsibility for copyright violations of intellectual property carried out by the participants. 8. Mention of the authors/students name/emails, etc. anywhere in the body of the essay will lead to disqualification. 9. Each student will have to send his/her essay (complete in all respect) to [email protected] with a subject as “Submission of Essays” Essays submitted to any other email/medium/mode would not be considered. 10. The Essays should be original. Copied entries will not be considered under the contest. 11. The participant must be the same person who has written the Essay and plagiarism would not be accepted. 12. Each student shall have to submit scanned copy of their Aadhaar Card; PAN Card; Clear scanned copy of School/College Identity Card and a scanned copy of his/her Bank Details (such as Name; Account No.; Bank's Name; Branch name and address, IFSC Code etc.) and send the same to [email protected] by mentioning the subject as “Personal Details” as per Topic and as per the FORMAT given below. 13. Each student should also fill in their above personal details in an Excel Sheet Template (attached) and it should be sent to [email protected] by mentioning the subject as “My Excel Data” as per Topic and as per the FORMAT given below. 14. Students should make sure that their personal details are accurate and updated since this information will be used for further communication. 15. As the above details are important and mandatory, non–submission of any of the above requirements will lead to disqualification. 16. The last date of receipt of Essays by email is August 8, 2021 (Sunday) by 12.00 noon 17. All the submissions shall be the exclusive property of DAE. DAE can publish the contents of the submissions (edited / unedited) in journals / periodicals giving due credit to the participant. The decision of the Organising Committee of the 33rd DAE All India Online Essay Contest on Nuclear Science & Technology shall be final and binding in case of any differences or ambiguity.
