The goal of Master’s Program in Education Sciences is to prepare students for academic careers with broad knowledge and professional skills on education under the new integrated curriculum concentrated on the theory and practice in the area.
Master’s Program in Education Sciences consists of three major fields of basic education sciences, school education and education for human coexistence, and offers the areas listed below:

Q1. When is the entrance examination?A1. Normally, the entrance examination is scheduled in the middle of October. Application deadline is the middle of September. Academic year for the Degree Students starts in April. But you might want to consider to be a Research Student. Research Student program is for international students who seek to conduct their research under the guidance of academic advisors. Selection is based on the submitted documents, so it is not necessary to come to Japan to apply. Together with the application form, students must submit a "Communication Status with Prospective Academic Advisor Form" completed by the faculty member of this university. So please contact the professors directly by e-mail or post. For information regarding professors of University of Tsukuba, refer to "Enrollment Guidebook for International Students" or "Tsukuba Researchers Information Online System (TRIOS)", and home page of respective graduate school.

Q2. What if I want to pursue further study in education sciences at University of Tsukuba?A2. University of Tsukuba has three doctoral programs in education sciences.
The goal of Doctoral Program in Education is to prepare students for academic careers with highly professional skills for conducting research on the foundations of education. Field of research is Philosophy of Education, History of Japanese Education, History of Foreign Education, Adult and Community Education, Educational System and Organization, Comparative and International Education, Educational Governance: Policy and Politics, School Management, Educational Organization Development, Sociology of Education, and Career Education.
The goal of Doctoral Program in School Education is to prepare students for academic careers with professional skills for conducting research connected with educational activities in schools. The program is designed to meet the need for dealing with complicated and turbulent problems in school education and for conducting practical research in education. Field of research is Curriculum, Teaching Method, Moral Education, Educational Technology, Career Education, Social Studies Education, Language Education, Mathematics Education, and Science Education.
The goal of Doctoral Program in Human Care Science is to train researchers who are skilled at constructing theories that holistically grasp human problems and develop effective helping strategies based on these theories. Education for Human Coexistence has Educational clinics, Sociology of Education, Research on society for human coexistence, and so on.
Q3. Is there any financial aid available?A3. There are many scholarships available from outside organizations like the Japanese government, foundations, and companies. We strongly encourage all students to apply for these scholarships in their second and subsequent years. The University of Tsukuba also established the Tsukuba Scholarship specifically for international students in our English programs.
