Advantages of sourcing images this way:By sourcing images through books you can find images from a wide variety of genres of music as there is a lot of various books which focus specifically on one particular genre, making it easier to find more specific images.

Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:By sourcing images through books it makes it harder get a copy of the images as they need to be scanned or take a picture of them, therefore its not the easiest way of obtaining images. As well as this due to the music scene being predominantly on the internet it’s a lot harder to find books with more up to date images and information in them.

Images sourced from google images:

Advantages of sourcing images this way:When finding images through Google it’s one of the quickest ways of finding images of a vast range of different things meaning you can quickly and easily find images of anything you may need. Also by getting images from Google its easier to save them of screenshot them to your own documents.

Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:

A disadvantage of sourcing images through Google images is that anyone can get the same images as you as they are for everyone's use therefore the images wont be unique to just your work. As well as this you may find that some of the images on Google are copyrighted and have a watermark across the image which then makes the image unusable.

Images sourced from stock image library:

Advantages of sourcing images this way:By sourcing images through stock image libraries it means that you can avoid copyright problems and generally get more unique images than what you would if you were just to get images from Google. Another advantage of getting images from stock image libraries is that once you pay for the image its yours and then you can use the image as much as you want.

Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:

A disadvantage of sourcing images through stock image libraries is that images can sometimes be limited and not exactly what you're looking for. As well as this another disadvantage is that you have to pay for these images.

Images sourced from copyright free site:

Advantages of sourcing images this way:An advantage of sourcing images through copyright free sites is that you aren't taking anyone's work that they don’t want to be used. As well as this you end up with more unique images due to having to pay for the images.

Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:By sourcing images this through copyright free sites it means that you will have to pay for images to avoid infringing on copyright laws. Also when getting images from copyright sites they will normally have watermarks across the image to stop it from being screenshotted and used without paying for them.

Images sourced from your own existing images:

Advantages of sourcing images this way:By sourcing images by taking them yourself means that they're very unique as no one will have the exact same image as you took it yourself. As well as this it means you can get the image the way you want it to look as you'll be the one taking it rather than just getting an image from the internet.

Disadvantages of sourcing images this way:

Disadvantages of sourcing images by taking them yourself is that you may not get many high quality images if its images taken on a phone from a gig. As well as this as the images may not be as good as you would like them to be as you may not having the best lighting or camera at a gig as you would be part of the crowd.

Advantages of different resolutions:An advantage of having different resolutions for images is that you can set higher resolutions for when you're printing images so that you can still get a detailed image even when its been printed off. Also by being able to adjust the resolution for images on web as you don’t need as high resolutions and can therefore save file space.

Disadvantages of different resolutions:

A disadvantage of different resolutions is that the higher the resolution the more file space it takes up as well as this it means that the resolution needs changing depending on where the image you are using is going. Also if the image needed emailing to someone the file size may be too large due to a high resolution.

Explain the changes you made to the image and explain why you made those changes:To manipulate this image I changed some of the colours within the lighting of the set behind the band. I did this by using the auto select tool to select the rectangle of colour behind the band rather than the whole background, once I had done this I just refined the edge of the selection and then layered it via copy I then put a colour overlay on top of the image but lowered the opacity so that it only gave a light wash of purple over the original lighting. Once I had done this I did the same to the lights above the band to give them the same wash of colour. Another I did to this image was simply just adjusting the levels and brightness and contrast f the backdrop to make a more clear difference to the image. I made these changes to add a variety of colours to the image rather than just a the plain green shade across it all. As well as this the lilac shade on top of the green makes a more interesting focal point behind the band and due to the main pattern being in the centre behind the band I think it draws he eye more towards the centre of the stage and therefore draws the eye towards the lead singer.
