Anotace: Rozdělení volnočasových aktivit a slovní zásoba týkající

se jednotlivých aktivit.

Free-time activities (leisure time)

• Going to the cinema – to watch movies – thriller, comedy, documentary, drama, sci-fi, war film, historical drama, horror, action film, fairy-tail, cartoon;

• Going to the theatre – to watch a play, stand-up comedy, musical or a show. One needs to find out what is on, to decide when to go, to choose a seat and to buy the ticket.

• DIY - making models, gardening, building, painting,fixing,restoring,hanging wallpaper, screwing.

• Watching TV - types of TV programs are: The

News, Soap Operas, Criminal Investigation

Dramas, Medical Dramas, Reality TV, Situation

Comedies (Sit-Coms), Talk Shows,

Documentaries, Cartoons, Game Shows, Sports

programs, Movies, Political programs, Religious

programs, Music programs.

• Going out with friends - You can also do many

things with your friends, like go out to a bar, go

dancing to a club, have dinner at a restaurant, play

a sport, sit down and talk, go out for a coffee, have

a barbecue, go for a trip. Or if you don't have

anything specific to do, you can say hang out with

friends.

• Surfing the internet - visit your favourite websites,

watch music videos, create your own video and

upload it for other people to see, maintain contact

with your friends using a social networking site,

write your thoughts in a blog, learn what is

happening in the world by reading news websites,

etc.

• Playing games - computer games, chess, dice,

cards, board games.

• Playing a musical instrument - to play the piano,

guitar, violin, cello, flute, piano accordion, clarinet,

saxophone, trumpet, etc.

• Listening to music - listen to different types of

music such as pop, rock, hip hop, rhythm & blues,

blues, jazz, classical, soul, metal or folk.

• Reading - fiction and non-fiction book,magazine,

newspaper. If you like fiction, you can read novels,

short stories, crime fiction, romance, etc. If you like

non-fiction, you can read biographies,

autobiographies, or books on history, science,

philosophy, religion, poetry.

• Going to the park - to walk, to have a picnic, to relax

• Going hunting - you need a rifle, bow or crossbow

• Going fishing - you need at least a fishing rod and

some lure

• Going to cultural locations and events - one can

go to the museum, to an art gallery or to the zoo to

see animals and also to an exhibition. You can go

to concerts, plays, musicals, dance recitals and

opera performances.

• Going shopping – a lot of people like to go to

shopping centers, small shops or boutiques for

shopping to buy clothes or items for their houses

and gardens.

• Cooking - One can bake cakes, cookies and

pastries in the oven. Barbecuing is very popular in

the summer season.

• Art and crafts - there are many arts and crafts to

learn and practice eg. painting, drawing, sewing,

knitting, sculpting, make jewelry, photography,

pottery, singing, dancing.

• Studying something - One can study a language,

learn a skill, such as cooking or making furniture.

• Exercise and playing a sport - To stay fit and

healthy, one can do exercise alone, such as

swimming or working out at a gym, or you can play

a team sport, such as football or basketball.
