what we have been able to accomplish in three years. With this year’s award grants, we have made an impact in our great commu-nity of over $237,000. We have also built an endowment fund of over $356,000 to insure that our impact will continue for many years to come. Winston Churchill once said, “We Make a Living by What We Get, but We Make a Life by What We Give”. We, the members of the Women’s Fund, are proof that this is true.

But, we aren’t done yet. This is just the be-

ginning of what the Women’s Fund can ac-complish to assist women and children in south central Kentucky. We envision the Women’s Fund to be a lasting legacy. This legacy can be accomplished by continuing to

grow our membership, which will result in a larger impact grant each year and a larger endowment fund. This will make a great impact and difference in our community now and forever.

August 3, 2015 brought about awonderful change for FamilyEnrichment Center. The dream ofhaving all of our services on onecampus came true with the open-ing of our new Wee Care Childcare Center. This new building will allow us to expand services to offer care to 49 children and increase our “free” respite services to parents in thecommunity. This goal from our long range plan could have never beenrealized without the help of theWomen’s Fund of South Central Kentucky. Financial support from the

grant allowed us to renovate an old, abandoned building and make it a spectacular place to care for little ones and make sure they are prepared to enter school. Thanks to theWomen’s Fund, the benefits of this project will be realized on and on, long past 2015. Who knew that a group of concerned women, who envision a community where women and children are safe and have the services they need to allow them to be the best they can be, could make such big changes in such a short amount of time? Family Enrichment Center is grateful that the Women’s Fund cares about the parents and children we serve.

The Barren River Area Safe Space, Inc. is a regional domestic violence shelter and program dedicated to providing safety, crisis intervention and educational programming within a trauma informed care model. The Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky enabled the shelter to make an impact on women and children through the addition of a handicap accessible bathroom, furniture and play equipment in order to make their world a better place.
