IR RequirementAnnex I, Section 6.2.1.2 Rectified Grid Coverage (RectifiedGridCoverage) • (…) • Grid points of a RectifiedGridCoverage shall coincide with the centres of cells of the

geographical grids defined in Section 2.2 of Annex II of the IR at any resolution level.

Annex III, Section 3.5.2 Requirements for Orthoimage Coverages(1) By way of derogation from the requirement in Section 2.2 of Annex II, any grid

compatible with one of the following coordinate reference systems may be used for making gridded Orthoimagery data available:

    • ….• ….• – plane coordinates using the ETRS89 Transverse Mercator coordinate reference

    system.

INSPIRE attribute extension to EL coverages:

All could be done by XSLT transformation of output GML of WCS service.

    /oi:beginLifespanVersion Constant value

/oi:domainExtent/gml:EX_Extent/../gml:posList reuse bbox ‐ extent of subset

/oi:footprint Has to be computed  from  request extent and mosaic elements / coverage footprint

    22

INSPIRE attribute extension to OI coverages:

    • What is “coverage” ?  • Size of LZW compressed TIFF OI coverage is ~ 3TB

    • Can we use ECW then?

    • Service cannot be free:• Autentization• Spatial and temporal restriction

    • Limit on GB per single request, similar to WFS restrictions• Cannot offer transformation

    23

    Aditional :national: requirements for WCS

    = full country

( while national dataset source data in ECW format ~ 600 GB)No, only JPEG2000

    • We cannot do WCS as INSPIRE download  service without substantial development (middleware between WCS and user)

    • Not clear “added value” of INSPIRE extensions to justify the development

    • Wait for TG for WCS

    • Low usage of INSPIRE services, which do not encourage investments

    24

    Conclusions

Anybody has “out of the box” solution for WCS ?
