結末のない物語：

映画『怪談』　夏休みに怖い映画を見たいですか？みなさんにおすすめの映画を一つご紹介します。それは1965年公開の『怪談（かいだん）』という映画です。

　その名のとおり、恐くて、不思議な物語です。これは小林正樹（こばやしまさき）監督が15番目に作った映画で、原作は小泉八雲（こいずみやくも）の『怪談』という怪奇文学作品集です。出演者の仲代達矢（なかだいたつや）は、他にも小林監督の11作品や、黒澤明監督の5作品に出演しています。

　『怪談』は、「黒髪（くろかみ）」（主演：新珠三千代、三國連太郎）、「雪女（ゆきおんな）」（主演：仲代達也、岸恵子）、「耳無芳一（みみなしほういち）の話」（主演：中村嘉葎雄）、「茶碗の中（ちゃわんのなか）」（主演：中村翫右衛門）という四つの物語でできています。

　それぞれの物語の主題は、超自然的、不可思議なことで、それらを神秘的にするために、防音スタジオで効果音、特に琵琶が使われています。

　一番知られているのは「雪女」ですが、私は「黒髪」が一番怖いと思いました。特に「黒髪」の終盤に、主人公が崩れ落ちていく部屋から逃げようとするところで、主人公の心理を体感します。それは本当に恐ろしいです。

　それから、この映画には歴史的な要素がたくさんあるので、歴史好きな人が見ると楽しめるでしょう。そして、驚くことに、日本的な美しい演出（カメラに映るセット、小道具、俳優、衣裳、照明効果など）は全て手作りだそうです。そのため、制作費がとても高く、約三億円かかったそうです。

　みなさん、ホラームービーに興味があったら、是非、この映画を見て楽しんでください！

English The Story with No Ending:

KwaidanThis summer vacation, are you in the mood to watch a scary movie? We have a great movie to recommend: 1965's Kwaidan.

As the name suggests, it's a film of frighten-ing and wonderful stories. It is the 15th film by director Masaki Kobayashi, the original stories come from a collection of horror sto-ries by Yakumo Koizumi. The cast includes Tatsuya Nakadai. Nakadai has appeared in 11 of Kobayashi's films, and 5 by director Akira Kurosawa.

Kwaidan's plot is made of four stories: “Black Hair” (starring Michiyo Aratama,) “The Snow Woman” (starring Tatsuya Na-kadai and Keiko Kishi,) “Hoichi the Earless”

(starring Katsuo Nakamura,) and “In a Cup of Tea” (starring Kan’emon Nakamura.)

Each story has a supernatural theme. To suit the mysterious theme, sound stages were used for sound effects, especially the sound of the biwa (Japanese string instru-ment.)

Our favourite story was The Snow Woman, but we thought Black Hair was the scariest. Right before the ending, when the protago-nist has collapsed and is trying to escape, we also felt his fear. This is really horrifying.

In addition, since this film has many his-toric elements, anyone who enjoys history should enjoy watching this film. Surpris-ingly, the film's beautiful Japanese mise-en-scene (sets, actors, lighting effects, costumes) has the appearance of being hand made. Because of this, the budget was very expensive. It was reported to be around 300 million yen!

If you are interested in horror movies, by all means watch this movie please!

L’histoire sans fin:

KwaïdanEst-ce que ça vous tente de voir un film d’horreur cet été? Si oui, nous avons un film a vous recommander : Kwaïdan (1965)

Comme le titre le suggère, ce film est com-posé d’histoires merveilleuses et terrifiantes. Kwaïdan est le 15e film du réalisateur Ma-saki Kobayashi et est l’adaptation d’une col-lection d’histoires d’horreurs écrites par Ya-kumo Koizumi. Tatsuya Nakadai est un des acteurs dans le film. Il apparaît dans onze films réalisés par Kobayashi et cinq par le réalisateur Akira Kurosawa.

Le film est constitué de quatre histoires : « Cheveux noirs » (avec Michiyo Aratama), « La Femme des neiges » (avec Tatsuya Na-kadai et Keiko Kishi), « Hoïchi sans oreilles »

(avec Katsuo Nakamura), et « Dans un bol de thé » (avec Kan’emon Nakamura).

Chaque histoire aborde un thème surnaturel. Des instruments comme le biwa (un instru-ment à corde japonais) ont été utilisés pour mieux convenir à l’ambiance mystérieuse du film.

Notre histoire préférée fut La Femme de neige, mais nous avons pensé que Cheveux noirs était plus épeurant. Vers la fin de l’histoire, lorsque le personnage principal tente de s’enfuir, on peut vraiment ressentir sa peur. C’est une histoire terrifiante.

De plus, car ce film a plusieurs éléments historiques, les amateurs d’histoire aimeront sûrement ce film. La mise en scène japonaise était magnifique et avait une apparence très artisanale. Ce souci du détail a nécessité un budget considérable. Le coût total du film était d’environ 300 million de yens!

Si vous aimez les films d’horreur, n’hésitez-pas à allez voir Kwaïdan.

白玉粉　60g水　2.72oz（80ml）てんさい糖　0.51oz(15ml)塩　少々

(B)くるみ　20gあんこ　120gきな粉　適量

作り方：

ボウルに(A)を入れ、すべて混ぜ合わせ1.る。その後、ボウルごと蒸し器に入れ、強火で3分ほど加熱する。

ボウルを取り出し、10回ほど混ぜる。2.

再度、蒸し器に戻して、3分ほど蒸す。3.2.を繰り返す。

くるみを加え、表面にきな粉をまぶし、6等4.分する。

あんこで包んで形を整え、仕上げにきな5.粉をまぶす。

Instructions

Placez les ingrédients (A) dans un 1. bol et mélangez. Placez le bol avec le mélange dans une marmite à vapeur. Laissez cuire à — pendant 3 minutes.

Enlevez le bol de la marmite et remuez 2. le mélange 10 fois.

Placez le bol dans la marmite à vapeur 3. de nouveau pour un autre 3 minutes. Puis répétez les instructions dans "2".

Ajoutez au mélange les noix, puis cou-4. vrez le mélange avec la farine de soja. Divisez le mélange en six portions.

Enrobez-le avec la pâte d'haricots 5. rouges sucrée, puis pincez pour fermer. Recouvrez-le de farine de soja pour finir.

Instructions

Place (A) in a bowl and mix all up. Place 1. the bowl in a steamer, turn the burner to high and let steam for roughly 3 minutes.

Remove the bowl out and stir the (A) mix 2. about 10 times.

Return it to the steamer and steam for 3. another 3 minutes. Repeat “2.”

Add walnuts and cover its surface with 4. soybean flour. Then cut it into 6 portions.

Wrap it with the red bean paste and pinch 5. to close. Cover with soybean flour at the end to complete.

”小トリアノン”といえば、フランスのベルサイユ宮殿そばにある、王妃マリー・アントワネットの離宮。プライベートを重視して作られただけあって、美しい装飾の中にも落ち着いた雰囲気が守られた館です。さて、モントリオールにも、そんな寛ぎを約束してくれそうな新しい小トリアノンが５月に誕生しました。

Petit Trianonは御馴染Pâtisserie Yuki移転後の同じ場所にオープン。その名前にふさわしく、店内ではロココ調を意識したティーセットやデコレーションが目を引きます。

オーナーのVan Hien Daoさんは、Parvis、Pikolo、Veritasにてバリスタを経験、そしてパートナーのGaiia Kimさんは、Toqué!でデザートを担当していたという、輝かしい経歴。満を持してオープンしたPetit Trianonでは、お二人の経験を活かした美味しいコーヒーとデザートの組み合わせを楽しめます。

KITTELのエスプレッソは、コーヒー初心者からコーヒー党まで幅広く受け入れられる、抜群のバランス。また、モントリオールではなかなかお目にかかれないフランスの高級茶、NINA’S Parisがあり、その名も「マリー・アントワネット」なるバラ香るアップル・ティーは、飲むだけでロココ時代にタイムスリップしそうです。

クロワッサンとカップケーキが合わさったオリジナルCrocakeは、日替わりでトッピングが変わるので、通って順番に試してみたいもの。この日はピーナッツクリームとポップコーンがふんだんに盛りつけてある人気バージョン。定番のレモンタルトやチーズケーキ、チョコケーキは、どれも甘過ぎず、使われているフルーツとの調和も完璧です。その美しいフォルムはまさに、Petit Trianonで優雅に食するにふさわしい、と言えるでしょう。

Français Près du château de Versailles se trouve le Petit Trianon, château qui fut autrefois celui de la reine Marie-Antoinette. Construit avec un souci d’intimité avant toute au-

tre considération, il est magnifiquement décoré et dégage une atmosphère détendue. Eh bien, en mai dernier, Montréal a vu apparaître son propre Petit Trianon, un café-pâtisserie qui aspire à offrir une ambiance semblable à celle de l’original. Le Petit Trianon, installé dans les anciens locaux de la Pâtis-serie Yuki, porte bien son nom; en effet, ses ensembles à thé et sa décoration empruntent au flamboyant style rococo. Les propriétaires du Petit Trianon, Van Hien Dao, ancien barista au Parvis, au Pikolo et au Veritas, et Gaiia Kim, an-ciennement chef pâtissière au Toqué!, connaissent une bril-lante carrière. Grâce à leur savoir-faire, on peut déguster d’excellents desserts et cafés dans cet espace qui manquait au quartier. On y offre d’ailleurs l’espresso Kittel, un café d’un rare équili-bre qui plaira autant au néophyte qu’au puriste. On y propose également les thés hauts de gamme de la maison française NINA’S Paris, pourtant rares à Montréal. Une seule gorgée du « Marie-Antoinette », un thé au parfum de pomme et de rose, vous transportera directement à l’époque rococo. Côté desserts, le croisement du croissant et du cupcake a donné naissance à l’unique « Crocake » dont la garniture est changée quotidiennement. À vrai dire, j’irais presque chaque jour pour tous les goûter! Lors de ma visite, il était généreuse-ment garni de crème d’arachides et de pop-corn, un mariage évidemment populaire. Les classiques que représentent la tarte au citron, le gâteau au fromage et le gâteau au choco-lat sont juste assez sucrés, en parfaite harmonie avec les fruits qu’ils contiennent. Bref, les desserts et leur élégante présentation s’harmonisent parfaitement au décor raffiné du Petit Trianon. Allez, méditez le destin tragique de cette fameuse reine de France, mais surtout, passez une agréable heure du thé!

Veritas, and Gaiia Kim, the former pastry chef at Toqué, both of whom had distinguished ca-reers before coming together at Petit Trianon to make the best coffee and desserts in NDG.

Here, Kittel’s espresso has a distinguished balance that is popular with coffee amateurs and experts alike. You can also enjoy high-quality French tea from NINA’s Paris, which is particularly difficult to come by in Montreal. One such tea drink I heartily recommend is the “Marie-Antoinette,” a tea flavored with apples and rose. One sip and you’ll be trans-ported back to the era of Rococo.

Another great choice is the café’s own original Crocake: a mix between a croissant and cupcake offered with new toppings daily. I almost want to stop in every day just to try them all. Today’s Crocake, for example, was abundantly garnished with a popular combination of peanut cream and popcorn. Standard lemon cakes, cheese cakes and chocolate cakes are also fruity and perfectly balanced. Their beautiful presentation is truly fit to be eaten in the elegant setting of the Petit Trianon.

Here’s hoping you have an elegant tea time, just as Marie-Antoinette herself would have enjoyed it!

One day, I met an amazing woman.Recently, I realized how far I had come in my life.

I left the country I’d grown up in a few decades ago and moved to Quebec. During the time when I felt uneasy about what my life would be like from then

on, I met a wonderful woman living in a small rural town.

Her name is Mireille Vittecoq. She is French.

She first came to Quebec when she was 28 years old, thanks to a France-Quebec teachers exchange program. Until she retired at 55, she taught art throughout Quebec.

She currently lives in Saint-Aimé-du-Lac-des-Îles, a small village by a lake 250 km north of Montreal, along with her husband Marc, their cats Peggy and Michka, and their dog Blacky. 35 years ago, she adopted and raised a Haitian boy.

I was worried I’d get bored after retire-ment, living in such a small northern village, but her life style was a reassur-ing surprise.

There is a secondary residence built in her backyard. Half of it is Mireille's atelier, and the other half is Marc's wood workshop. In both workshops there are tools which go beyond the range of a hobby.

Mireille works with nature elements, for example with tree roots she finds during walks through hills and fields, or with shells and stones she picks up on trips. She devotes time to shaping things, integrating the sense of art she has cultivated and using her sensitivity to emphasize the nature around her.

One of the pieces she showed me was a brooch she crafted using a broken bracelet that had belonged to her moth-er. Every piece of art she creates has some emotional attachment, therefore she does not intend to sell them.

She lives with a passion to give shape to her thoughts and sensitivity, and it makes her seem bright and energetic, as a young girl would be.

This made me realize that where you live doesn’t matter so much. It’s how you live that’s the key to brightening your life.

I'm very grateful for the encounter I had with her!

近頃、「ずいぶんと遠くまで来たよなぁ」とふと感じることがある。

生まれ育った国を離れて、ここ、ケベックの地で生活して早ん十年の月日が経ち、さて、これからの人生、ここでどうやって生きていこうかと漠然とした不安を感じていたある日、小さな田舎町で暮らすステキな女性に出会った。

彼女の名前は、MireilleVittecoqさん。フランス生まれ。

28歳のときに、フランスとケベックの間で行われた、教職員のエクスチェンジのプログラムによってケベックにやってきた。55歳で退職するまで、Mireilleさんはケベックの各地で美術講師として指導をしてきた。

現在は、モントリオールから北におよそ250キロ離れたSaint-Aimé-du-Lac-des-Îlesという湖畔の小さな村で、夫のMarcさん、猫のPeggyにMichka、犬のBlackyと暮らしている。また、彼女は35年程前にハイチから養子を引き取り、息子にしている。

そんなMireilleさんの生き方は、北国の最果ての小さな村で老後の生活を送るなんて、さぞかし退屈なんじゃないかなぁ･･･と思っていた私を気持ちよく驚かせてくれた。

裏庭に建てられた別宅の１階。半分はMireilleさんのアトリエ、もう半分はMarcさんの木工場になっている。2人の作業場には、趣味の領域を超えた工具が並んでいる。

Mireilleさんの作品は、たとえば、近くの野山を歩いて見つけた木の根とか、旅行に行った際に拾った貝殻や石とか、日々の生活で自分を取り巻いている自然に自分の感性を傾けて、そこに今まで自分が培ってきた芸術的感性を共感させて形を生み出していく情熱に余念がない。

作品のひとつとして見せてくれたのは、母親の形見であったブレスレットがちぎれてしまい、それを利用してブローチに再生したものだった。作品のどれもこれもMireilleさんの思い入れの深いもので、売ったりすることは考えてないそうだ。

72歳の彼女が、まるで少女のようにきらきら輝いて見えるのは、自分の思い、感性を形にすることに情熱を持って生きているからにほかならないと思う。

どこで暮らすかはそれほど重要なことではなく、どんな風に暮らすかが、その人の人生を輝かせる要因になるんだなぁと改めて思わせてくれた。

そんな彼女との出会いに感謝！

Un jour, j’ai ren-contré une femme magnifique.Récemment, j’ai réalisé à quel point j’ai chem-iné depuis mon départ du Japon.

Ça fait déjà des dizaines d’années que j’habite ici, au Québec, après avoir quitté le pays où je suis née et j’ai grandi. Un jour, pendant une période où j’éprouvais des inquiétudes à pro-pos de ma vie ici, j’ai rencontré une femme magnifique qui vit dans une petite campagne.

Elle s’appelle Mireille Vittecoq, originellement de France.

Quand elle avait 28 ans, elle est venue ici grâce à un programme d’échange entre les professeurs de la France et du Québec. Elle a enseigné comme professeure d’art à travers le Québec, jusqu’à sa retraite aux à l’âge de 55 ans.

Présentement, elle vit avec son mari Marc, ses chats Peggy et Michka, et son chien Blacky dans un petit village au bord du lac “Saint-Aimé-du-Lac-des-Îles”, situé à 250 kilomètres au nord de Montréal. Il y a 35 ans, elle a aussi adopté un garçon d’Haïti qu’elle a élevé.

La vie de Mireille est une bonne surprise pour moi qui pensait qu’il serait ennuyant de vieillir dans un petit village au nord du pays.

Il y a une deuxième maison construite dans l’arrière-cour de chez eux. La moitié de cette maison est l’atelier de Mireille. L’autre moitié est l’atelier de menuiserie de Marc. Il y a beau-coup d’outils qui vont bien plus loin qu’un pas-se-temps dans ces ateliers.

Les œuvres de Mireille, par exemple, sont faites avec les racines d’arbres qu’elle a trou-vées en se promenant dans les champs et les collines, ou avec des coquillages et cailloux qu’elle ramasse durant ses voyages. Dévouée à mettre en valeur la nature qui l’entoure, elle se consacre à réaliser des créations inspirés par une sensibilité artistique qu’elle a cultivée tout au long de sa vie.

Une des œuvres de Mireille qu’elle m’a mon-trée était une broche faite à partir d’un brace-let brisé, un souvenir de sa mère. Elle est at-tachée à toutes ses oeuvres, donc elle n’a pas l’intention de les vendre.

Cette femme de 72 ans semble étinceler com-me si elle était une jeune fille. C’est la création de ses objets d’art qui lui permet de donner une forme concrète à l’expression de ses sen-timents et de sa sensibilité.

Cela m’a fait réaliser que l’endroit où l’on vit n’est pas aussi important que la manière dont on vit pour égayer sa vie.

Pour cela, je suis reconnaissante de notre ren-contre!

石垣島離島ターミナルは、小浜島、竹富島や西表島など八重山離島への玄関口です。ターミナル内には、各船舶会社、ツアー会社のチケット売り場や、売店、飲食店などがあります。

私たちは「星野リゾート　リゾナーレ小浜島」を午前中にチェックアウトし、フェリーで石垣島離島ターミナルへ。飛行機に乗るまで時間があったので、荷物をコインロッカーに預けて、その周辺をお土産目当てに歩いてみました。

雑貨カフェ「石垣ペンギン」

まず最初に向かったのは、離島ターミナルから徒歩３分くらいのところにある「石垣ペンギン」です。目的は、食べるラー油の元祖とされる「石垣島ラー油」を購入すること。ブーム中は、入手困難のため幻のラー油とも言われていたそうですが、今回は店内に在庫がありすぐに購入できました。「石垣島ラー油」は、島唐辛子、ウコン、ピパーチ、石垣の塩、黒糖、ニンニクなどの島の具材がたっぷり入っています。辛さ控えめで、餃子だけでなく、サラダやラーメン、チーズとも合います。お好みの食べ方を研究してみるのも楽しいかも。

お土産探しなら「ユーグレナモール」

ユーグレナモールには、メイン通りの「中央通り」と北に平行する「銀座通り」の2本のアーケードがあり、お菓子や特産物、泡盛、Tシャツ、民芸品などのお店があります。

お洒落でかわいいTシャツがたくさん「アイランドスーベニア石垣店」

ユーグレナモール中央通り内にあるお店です。オリジナルTシャツの品揃えはトップクラスと言われるだけあり、かわいいデザインから渋い定番のものまで揃っていました。私たちが買ったのは、沖縄の方言で「みずさば」と言われるジンベイザメのTシャツ。サメには見えないけれど、ガォーと言っているかのようなかわいいデザイン。定番石垣島Tシャツも渋くてかっこいいデザインだったのでお土産として購入。カナダへのお土産探しにもおすすめのお店でした。

沖縄にこだわった小さな雑貨屋さん「ひらりよ商店」

ユーグレナモール銀座通り内にあり、石垣島ならではのかわいい雑貨探しにぴったりのお店。琉球ガラス、紅型（びんがた）雑貨、石垣島の作家さんの小物雑貨、手ぬぐいやバック等幅広く取り扱っています。紅型とは、沖縄を代表する伝統的な染色技法の一つです。お店では、Tシャツやバック、布などに自分の好きな型と色で染める紅型体験もできます。予約が必要ですが、時間に余裕があれば是非体験してみてください。

Au petit matin, nous quittons l’hôtel resort Hoshino Risonare sur l’île de Kohama et nous embarquons sur le ferry en direction du terminal d’Ishigaki. Nous déposons nos bagages à la consigne et, profitant du temps libre avant notre vol, nous partons à la découverte des envi-rons en quête de souvenirs à rapporter.

l’ishigaki penguinNous nous arrêtons au restaurant Ishigaki Penguin, situé à trois minutes de marche du terminal, afin de nous pro-curer du rāyu, une huile pimentée faite à partir de graines de sésame. Au plus fort de sa popularité, il lui fut donné le nom de « rāyu imaginaire » en raison de la pénurie qui en résulta. Toutefois, je suis arrivé au bon moment pour en acheter une bouteille, le stock étant bien pourvu. Le rāyu d’Ishigaki contient une riche variété d’ingrédients locaux, tels que des piments forts cultivés sur l’île, du curcuma, du poivre long, du sel Ishigaki, du sucre brun et de l’ail. Le goût légèrement épicé se marie bien avec les salades, les nouilles de rāmen et aux fromage, sans oublier les gyôza (raviolis japonais). En fait, l’expérience de tester et de découvrir votre accord rāyu et mets préféré pourrait s’avérer très divertissante.

La chasse aux souvenirsPour magasiner, deux galeries marchandes s’offrent à vous : la première est située dans la rue principale Chuo Dori et la deuxième sur Ginza Dori, une rue qui longe en

parallèle plus au nord. Vous y trouverez des douceurs, des produits typiques, de l’awamori (boisson alcoolisée originaire d’Okinawa), des chandails et des produits arti-sanaux traditionnels.

Island souvenir Ishigakiten, ses chandails mignons et élégants

Il s’agit d’une des boutiques sur Chuo Dori réputée pour sa grande variété de chandails originaux arborant des styles aussi bien mignons qu’élégants. Le chandail pour lequel nous avons eu un coup de cœur représentait un requin baleine, dont le nom est un mizusaba dans le dialecte d’Okinawa. L’animal lui-même n’a pas l’apparence d’un requin à proprement dit et l’imprimé rencontre un large succès, dû certainement à son design plutôt mignon. Les chandails d’Ishigaki sont élégants et bien conçus,

Ishigakijima Port Terminal is the entrance to the Yaeyama Island chain, which includes Kohamajima, Taketomijima and Iriomotejima. Inside the terminal, there are ticket booths for ferry and tour companies, as well as kiosks and restau-rants.We checked out Hoshino Resort Res-onare Kohamajima in the morning and headed for Ishigakijima Port Terminal by ferry. We put our luggage in the coin locker and explored the area for souve-nirs since we had a lot of time before our flight.

Zakka cafe Ishigaki Penguin

The first place that we visited was Ishigaki Penguin, situated three minutes away on foot from the port terminal. The purpose of this visit was to buy Ishigaki ra-yu, the original edible ra-yu, which is a spicy sesame seed oil. During its boom-ing period, it was called “imaginary ra-yu” due to its scarcity. However, I was able to buy a bottle on the spot this time since they had enough in stock. Ishigaki ra-yu contains plenty of local ingredients, such

as hot peppers found on the island, tur-meric, long pepper, Ishigaki salt, brown sugar and garlic. The mildly spicy taste goes well with salads, ramen noodles and cheeses; not to mention gyoza. It might prove very entertaining to try and find your favorite ra-yu combinations!

Yu-grena mall for souvenir huntingThere are two shopping arcades, Chuo Dori, which is the main street, and Ginza Dori, which runs parallel to the north. You can find sweets, special products, Awamori, T-shirts and folk craft goods.

This is one of the shops on Chuo Dori. It’s been said to have the grandest varie-ty of original T-shirts with designs ranging from cute to chic. The T-shirt we selected had a whale shark, called mizusaba in Okinawa dialect. The beast itself does not look like a shark per say and the print has it howling, which is quite cute. The basic Ishigaki T-shirts looked chic and were well designed, so we bought one as our souvenir. I would recommend this store if you are looking for a souvenir to bring back to Canada.

Hirariyo shoten: a small zakka shop particular in Okinawa

This shop is located on Ginza Dori, one of the streets of the Yu-gurena mall, and is perfect for hunting cute zakka items in Ishigakijima. A wide range of goods such as Ryukyu glass, bingata items, small ob-jects made by artists in Ishigaki, tenugui hand towels and bags can be found here. Bingata is a traditional colouring method iconic of Okinawa. At the store, you can experience bingata by dyeing T-shirts, bags and cloths with your favorite colours and shapes. We really suggest making an appointment and trying it for yourself.

bingata, de petits objets réalisés par les artistes d’Ishigaki, vous y dénicherez des serviettes tenugui faites à la main et des sacs. L’art du bin-gata est une technique traditionnelle de colora-tion spécifique à Okinawa. Dans cette boutique, vous aurez l’occasion de vous essayer au bin-gata en teignant des chandails, des sacs ou en-core des vêtements avec vos couleurs et motifs favoris. Nous vous conseillons de réserver et de tenter l’expérience!

「ひがし茶屋街」

金沢駅の東を流れる浅野川の近くにある「ひがし茶屋街」は、金沢観光では欠かせない人気スポットである。正式には「東山ひがし」と呼ばれ、重要伝統的建造物群保存地区になっている。情緒あふれるこの界わいは、歩いているとタイムスリップしたような感覚にさせられるから面白い。日本人はもとより、海外からの観光客にも大いに人気があるようだ。

もともと金沢の人は、進取の気象に富んでいるようで、伝統的な古いものを大切にする傍ら、新しいものを取り入れることに抵抗がないようだ。というより、進んで新しいものを取り入れている。伝統と革新といった対照的なその組み合わせが、なんとも金沢的といえよう。

■伝統工芸・和菓子・宿屋・料理屋などが魅力「ひがし茶屋街」

「ひがし茶屋街」は南北130メートル、東西180メートル、約1.8ヘクタールに140の建築物があり、そのうち３分の２が伝統的建造物である。茶屋町創設時から明治初期に建てられた茶屋様式の町家が多く残っている。金沢は、1580年、佐久間盛政が金沢城を築城

したのち、1583年に前田利家が入城してから城下町として栄えた。多くの茶屋が軒を並べていたようだ。現在は、江戸時代から続く宿屋、料理屋、加賀藩御用達の和菓子店、加賀名産の「麩

（ふ）」屋、九谷焼の陶器店、小物店などバラエティーに富んでいる。

中でもひときわ目立つのが、加賀伝統工芸の金箔の店「箔座ひかり蔵」だ。なんでも、日本全国の金箔生産量の99％は金沢地域で生産されているそう。店の中は、金箔をほどこした器やビン入りの食用金箔、金箔ケーキなどが売られ、まさに金箔づくし。極めつけは、店の奥にある外側も内側も金箔で出来た蔵である。あまりにまぶし過ぎて目がチカチカしそう。

店内には金箔を体験する「体験型教室」もある。（要予約：076-252-3641）

Le quartier de Hi-gashichaya Le quartier de Higashichaya est situé près de la rivière Asano et s’étend à l’est de la gare de Kanazawa. C’est un lieu incontournable et populaire lors d’une visite de Kanazawa. Le quartier est officiellement appelé « Higashi-yama Higashi » et est considéré comme es-sentiel à la préservation des ensembles de bâtiments traditionnels. Il est intéressant de se promener dans les environs car cela vous donnera l’impression d’être transportés dans le temps. Je l’ai vraiment ressenti lorsque j’y étais. Ce quartier semble figurer parmi les fa-voris des Japonais mais également des tour-istes étrangers.

Les habitants de Kanazawa sont réputés pour leur initiative débordante. Tout en chérissant leur histoire traditionnelle, ils n’ont aucune réticence à adopter de nouvelles choses. Au contraire, c’est ce qu’ils souhaitent. L’alliance contrastée de la tradition et de l’innovation est typique de Kanazawa. ■ Les attractions du quartier de Higashich-aya incluent artisanats traditionnels, con-fiseries japonaises, auberges, restaurants, etc... Il y a 140 bâtiments dans le quartier de Hi-gashichaya, couvrant 130 mètres du Sud au Nord sur 180 mètres de l’Est à l’Ouest pour une surface d’environ 1,8 hectare. Les deux tiers de cette zone sont conservés dans le style traditionnel. De nombreuses maisons alignées dans le genre des maisons de thé, construites entre la fondation de Chayamachi et le début de l’ère Meiji, sont toujours con-servées. Il est également possible de trouver de nombreuses épiceries.

Parmi les magasins d’artisanat traditionnel de Kaga proposant des produits avec de la feuille d’or, Hazuka Hikarizo en est le plus re-marquable. 99% de la production de feuilles d’or du Japon sont produits dans la region de Kanazawa. Vous trouverez de la feuille d’or dans tout le magasin. Il y a des bols recouverts de feuille d’or, des gâteaux de feuille d’or, et d’autres produits variés. L’entrepôt a pris des mesures extrêmes allant même jusqu’à dé-corer tant l’intérieur que l’extérieur de feuilles d’or. Toutes ces feuilles d’or deviennent dou-loureusement brillantes à regarder.

Kanazawa, the hottest town in Japan now (2)

Higashichaya district Higashichaya district is located near Asano river and runs along the east end of Kanazawa station. It’s an indispensable, popular spot in a tour of Kanazawa. The district is officially called “Higashiyama Higashi” and is desig-nated as the Important Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings. It’s interest-ing to walk around the neighbourhood as it will give you the feeling of being transported through time. I fully felt that while I was there. This district seems to be a big favourite with not only Japanese people but also foreign tourists. Kanazawan are known for their overflowing initiative. While cherishing their traditional history they’re not reluctant to take new things in. Rather they do so willingly. The contras-tive combination of tradition and innovation is characteristic of Kanazawa.

■ Attractions in the Higashichaya district including traditional handicrafts, Japanese sweets, inns, restaurants, etc. There are 140 buildings in the Higashichaya district, which span the length of 130 meters from south to north and 180 meters from east

Ninety-nine percent of the gold leaf production in Japan is produced in the Kanazawa region. You’ll see gold leaf everywhere in the store. There are bowls covered with gold leaf, gold leaf cakes, and other various items. The store-house went to extreme lengths and designed the interior as well as the exterior with gold leaf.
