„UNVOICED NARRATIVES OF STUDENTS“

The 2nd meeting in Hazlov, the Czech Republic

Vlčnov - The ride of the kings

This festival has two hundred years of tradition.The king runs from the upper end of the village towards the lower end and is also linked with the popular folk fairand the possibility of visiting museums and old houses.

The king – mostly small boy about 10 years old

Czech beer – Pilsner Urquell ; Budweiser Budvar

Czech wine – especially South Moravia – Valtice, Velké Pavlovice

Not only children like fairy tales, poems, songs, traditional pilgrimages and processions

The international folklore festival in Strážnice (Moravia) is the largest folk festival in the Czech Republic

Families that love history of folklor often visit museums

The most famous ones are :

Museum of Southeast Moravia village - Strážnice

Wallachian Museum in nature – Rožnov pod Radhoštěm

Slovacke museum – Uherské Hradiště

These traditions are very important in a family life :

children watch the preparation – cleaning, baking, cooking, hospitality

towards other people

meeting of parents, grandparents, children

common dining and telling

Carnival, welcome spring, Easter

traditional food - a dish called Judas, Easter lamb Easter whip, painting Easter eggs

Village fair and feasts with songs, pastry and special clothes – folk costume

Wine harvest
