Projekt Svět
Víte, že Číňané mohou počítat na
prstech jedné ruky do deseti?
Ano, i takové věci se naši žáci v Základní škole
Veronské náměstí dozvěděli ve dnech 13. až 16. února
2017, kdy proběhl v naší škole již pátý ročník oblíbeného
a velmi úspěšného Projektu SVĚT. V letošním roce jsme
měli možnost se seznámit blíže se studenty z Taiwanu, Číny, Brazílie, Indonésie, Malajsie
a Ukrajiny. Se stážisty jsme prožili opravdu nabitý týden plný nezapomenutelných zážitků,
prezentací o jejich zemích, zvyklostech a tradicích, fauně a flóře, historii a současnosti,
běžném životě i věcech, o nichž se málokdo dozví, vycházek do okolí, her, společného vaření
jejich národních jídel a posléze i ochutnávek, zatančili si jejich tance, zazpívali si národní
písničky, naučili se několik základních slovíček v jazyce stážistů, zkusili si napsat své jméno
v jazyce stážistů a také získali nové přátele. Během těchto aktivit se naši žáci 4. až 9. ročníků
seznámili neobvyklou a zábavnou formou se životem a zvyky v jiných zemích. Každý
ze stážistů představil svou zemi z pohledu sociální, ekonomické, politické, demografické
a kulturní situace.

Project Edison This project I really like. It's a great idea to
encourage children to speak English and improve their overall English. Project Edison in our
school is every year and every time and I greatly enjoyed it. Although they are often the
same states, but each time it's different with different students. This time came to our
school six studens and these six students were amazing. They were from the following
countries: Brazil, Georgia, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia. During the presentation, as
well as throughout the project, we had a great opportunity to meet new people from other
countries, the countries themselves, their culture,
customs and meal which we tasted at the end of the
whole week. I look forward to next year, but I will never
forget this amazing and wonderful experience.

Brazil Sports
Due to the tropical and subtropical nature of the climate of Brazil, it has not
traditionally competed in the Winter Olympics, although it made its first appearance in
the 1992 Winter Olympics, and most recently participated in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
However, Brazil has been competing in the Summer Olympicssince 1920. Brazil is currently
ranked 33rd in the overall ranking of medals in the Summer Olympics. Rio de Janeiro hosted
the 2016 Summer Olympics, the first Olympic held in South America.
History
Before the arrival of Europeans, the boundaries between these groups and their
subgroups were marked by wars that arose from differences in culture, language and moral
beliefs. These wars also involved large-scale military actions on land and water, with
cannibalistic rituals on prisoners of war.

Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world, and third largest in the Americas. Brazil
occupies a large area along the eastern coast of South America and includes much of the
continent's interior, sharing land borders with Uruguay to the south; Argentinaand Paraguay
to the southwest; Bolivia and Peru to the west; Colombia to the northwest; and Venezuela,
Guyana, Suriname and France(French overseas region of French Guiana) to the north.
Economy
Brazil is the largest national economy in Latin America, the world's eight largest
economy at market exchange rates and the seventh largest in purchasing power parity (PPP),
according to the International Monetary Fundand the World Bank. Brazil has a mixed
economy with abundant natural resources. After rapid growth in preceding decades, the
country entered an ongoing recession in 2014 amid a political corruption scandal and

Project Word started February 13, it finished 17 February 2017. This year six students
arrived. They came to us from Brazil, Indonesia, Georgia, Taiwan, China, and Malaysia. It was
a great experience for all of us. Each of the students told us something interesting and new
about their country. Some things we already knew. We could dance their dances. The
project was good and interesting. We liked Indonesia and Taiwan. On Friday they said
goodbye to them and we could taste their food as well. When we did not understand
something we would not be afraid to ask. Students were very nice and kind. The project was
just amazing and we look forward to meet another students next year.

Project World I think it was very instructive and full of information. One thing I did not like. I think it is
every year, in addition to details about the sam, because the students are from similar or
the same countries.
But like every year I loved it. This year to our school came six countries. Of some classes
has been chosen some people who spent time with the students and helped them during
the whole week. Irina and I have cared for a girl from Georgia. This presentation was
probably my favourite.
On Thursday we had an afternoon cooperative cooking with the students. I learned a lot
of new recipes from other countries. The next day we walked around in groups and met all
students who cooked for us their traditional food. Perhaps the most tasty were special
chocolate balls. Their recipe is simple. Mix condensed milk with the chocolate and allow to
stir until it connects absolutely. Then it put it onto a plate and let it cold in a cool place.
Then roll out small balls that are wrapped in coconut. This I liked most.
I think a lot of students have learned many new things. I really enjoyed it and I am
already looking forward to the next year when I want to help again.

Georgia It is a state which is situated between southeast Europe and southwest Asia. In the
valleys is a warm subtropical climate with high rainfall. In the east of the country is more dry
weather. The average temperature in Tbilisi is around 1 ° C in January to 24 ° C in July. 44% of the
country is covered by forests. Population is 4 630 841. The republic was founded in April 9, 1993.
Their president is Georgi Margvelašvili. Tbilisi, which is situated in a valley along the river
Mktvari, officially has the same population as Prague, but unofficially up to two million.
Tbilisi has often been conquered by various invaders, and even the population has not
always been predominantly Georgian, still lives here a large Armenian minority. Vardzia is
probably the most famous Georgian rock complexes. It is located in the now barren southern
part of Samcche-Javakheti. Their religion is Islam and Orthodoxy.
The food here is a ceremony led by the ancient ritual, which has a fixed of Procedure.
The most common materials are nuts, aromatic herbs, garlic, vinegar, red pepper and
pomegranates. You can meet variety of meat, fish, vegetable appetizers, cheese, pickled
vegetables and a wide variety of fragrant spices. Most of the dishes are prepared from mutton.

Project World 2017
OUR FEELINGS Last week at our school was held project World. This project attended the fourth till
the nineth classes. Six students from different countries went here. Pupils from the eighth
and the nineth classes cared for them. Students prepared presentation about their country
and they showed them to the others classes. Presentation were really interesting and
informative.
We cared for students and we found out about their families and how people live in
their certain countries. The best student for us was Cara from Taiwan. We liked each
presentation.
On Thursday we cooked with others students. At the first we cooked with Cara. We
cut onions and then we went to help Tamara (this student was from Georgia). She cooked
potatoes with vegetables (carrots, peppers, aubergines…). This was the first time for her. She
cooked delicious food.
On Friday was held “Global village”. It means that every country has one place –
stand and classes go and watches some videos, play some games and taste food, which they
have cooked. Pupils translated to smaller children, what students say and they helped
foreigners. Somebody showed their traditional clothes and somebody showed how looks
their writing, for example Chinese, Georgian.
We really enjoyed it. Foreigners were likeable and friendly. We are glad that we
could help them. We have learnt good understanding. We look forward to meet other
students from another countries next year.
