I have been down for about lO days w粗an upper respiratory bug and it’s being s血bbom. There is a
lot going around and my doctor has wa皿ed of a much worse flu epidemic on血e horizon. So’friends
be aware and continue to wash those hands.
Anyway, while being down I have done some thinking and reassessmg my quilting life. I seem to go
around in circles and not get much accomplished so I have decided that until I get my many, many
new prQjeds started and completed I w融no‡ dive i加o anything e]se・ I don’t know how many really
beautiful prQjects I have just waiting and now I reaⅢy feel compel]ed to work on them. Loving fabrics
and admiring血em and也en purchasing them to just sit on the chelf is no Ionger what I intend to

BCQS 2018葛Carolyn Casedy announced that there would be no more appraisals completed for last years quilt show
due to extenuating circumstances for the appraiser. All checks w組be destroyed for any appraisals not received.
Laramie Quilt Show - Higher Ground Fair and Quilt Show, Laramie, Wyoming, September 21-22・ Cyndi Holman is
gomg and will gladly take any quilts that need to be there to be hung at the show. Go to https:〃

Caring Quilt§-Shana reported that in Jan雌ry there were 10 quilts donated to Haven House, Dolphin House, Hope
West and sheets and blankets were donated to Sleep in Heavenly Peace・ There are Caring Quilt Kits and backings
available. At the April FQWC meeting there wi‖ be the traditional Sew In for Caring Quilts.
GuiId Library - Jane Savaria brought several books available for checkout from the Libra「y. These were Mickey
1 989, (includes templates); and Kaye England, Voices of the Past History ofWomen’s Lives in Patchwork (Martha
Washington, Betsy Ross, Amelia Earhart, and L櫨Cille Ball)・
Mystery Qu批- Jane Savaria reported that several are participating and that the blocks are available today and are ex-
tremely easy.
Sunshine - Susie Quesnel sent a card to CaroI Gerike who had shoulder surgery-
BCQS Board Meeting- February 16. The Library Book Fund is now at $47l ,000‥Our Boutique profits were do-
nated to this in a recent year. From this 6 new books were purchased and are available at the library for check-
out, Posters and postcards are availab萱e to pass out. The vendor sIots are餌l. JoAnns donated a sewmg ma-
chine. Baskets for a drawing at the sh0W are S軸under discussion. Tickets for the education classes listed on the web
Site wi11 be available next month. The first two quilt entries have been received. You can enter yours at any time. In-
surance for our storage js s軸being researched. The early bids were not cheap. The calendar for餌ure quilt shows are
under review. We are looking into more space at the Pavilion.
BCQS Education -- Debbie Watkins reviewed the Various Education classes" They are a11 available on the web site,blackcanyonquiltshow.com. Tickets w紺be available next month at the guild meeting・ For the Sunday demonstrations,
guild members interested in sharing in the demos in wooまapplique’traditional applique and art quilting are encouraged
to contact Suzanne Hebert, Carolyn Casedy, Or Peggy King.
Debbie mentioned that Barbara Yates Beasley is available to do another class in Animal Portraits this fall. This class

Chinle - Sue Shaman isn’t sure when she will be going back due to weather. She would appreciate squares ofquilt-
ing fabric organized by size in baggies. She will be using these for classes in the summer at Chinle.

2019 Retreat - Location has been secured and is scheduled for September 16-19. There is sleeping available for 15

Cabin Fever QuiIt Show, SPOnSOred by S&B Quilt Guild, Will be held March 15-17 at Delta County Fairgrounds inHotchkissCO.
Treasurers Report - Bank balance js $6385.6l. The retreat location has been paid for and wi11 be reimbursed with
