1. Studenti se seznámí s americkou dvojicí umělců ze šedesátých let. (5 min.)2. Studenti se seznámí s jejich dětstvím a studiemi. Výklad učitele. Diskuze. (5min.)3. Studenti se seznámí s nejlepšími vydanými alby a písněmi . (2 min.)8. Pracovní list. Studenti hledají na internetu odpovědi na dané otázky. Odpovědi zapisují do sešitů nebo souboru v předem určené složce. Pokud nestihnou vše v hodině, dokončí za domácí úkol.(Odpovědi na otázky a poznámky pro učitele jsou umístěny na posledním listu prezentace.) (20 min.)

After high school duo went to seperate collegues.Simon was enrolling at Queens Collage and Garfunkel at Columbia University.

In 1963 Simon´s graduating from college, they found prominence as part of the Greenwich Village folk music scene. (songs – “Sparrow“, “Bleecker Street“, “He was My Brother“) Soon they were spending their free time at folk music clubs and in 1965 produced their first major hit “The Sounds of Silence“

Close friends through childhood, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel grew up in the Jewish neighborhood Kew Gardens Hills, New York. They met in elementary school in 1953, when both appeared in the school play Alice in Wonderland (Simon as the White Rabbit and Garfunkel as the Cheshire Cat). They were classmates at Parsons Junior School and Forest Hills High School – began performing together (their junior year-as Tom and Jerry.

The recording studio was named by Simon as Jerry Landis and Garfunkel as Tom Graph

The duo began writing their own songs in 1955 and made their first professional recording (“Hey, Schoolgirl“)

- they were writing and recording their music throughout the 1960s 70s, 80s and had many folk-rock hit songs.

- they split up and got together again.

- Art Garfunkel was trying to establish an acting carrier and producing music.

- Paul Simon was writing songs and recording as a solo artist.

Concerts In 1981 they made history with a free concert in New York City´s Central Park (half a million people attended it)

In 2003 and 2004 they reunited to do an international tour and their concert in the Coliseum in Rome drew even more than the Central Park concert had

The organizers promise famous rappers from the Czech Republic as well as from Europe and America.

7 Trnkobraní mixes various genres – rock, pop and world music. Moreover, this festival is known for crasy events as well – one year the visitors broke a record in mass toasting with slivovice, and other year there was a competition in eating plum dumplings.
