HHIIGGHHLLIIGGHHTTSS AANNDD TTHHEE WWEEEEKK AAHHEEAADD Polk Street Bulletin Week of March 7, 2016
Dear Polk Street Parents,
Just a reminder that report cards will be coming home this Wednesday in your child’s backpack. Given that
we are piloting on-line report cards though our school portal for 4th
grade, those parents can view the full
report card on our school portal site Wednesday afternoon. We would appreciate 4th
grade parent feedback
through the survey sent out by Mr. Lee regarding this on-line pilot.
Here’s to a great week,
Gil Torossian

6
th grade Sports Night is an awesome rite of passage and parents and students had an awesome time
with relays, ball rolls and obstacle courses culminating as always with a super 4-way tug –o– war.
Special thanks to our Emcee’s Mr. Cirone and Mr. Rigano, Parent Grade Chair, Mrs. Macri and all
of our fabulous parent volunteers for making the evening extra special.
Saturday’s Odyssey of the Mind event was an awesome display of district
wide creativity as students competed in mind challenging competitions like
writing and producing a play about a fable gone viral. Furs, Fins, Feathers
and Friends where teams depicted problem solving from the perspective of
three different animals. No-cycle, Recycle where teams created a vehicle they
you could ride on from reused or recycled trash.
All participants had a super time and created outstanding presentations
worthy of the medals they received at the culmination.
Congratulations to all of our participants and big thanks to Mrs. LaRegina
and her team of teachers, coaches and judges for this most successful event.
