10. Course overview: Introduction to medical instrument engineering
The physical forms taken by most example of medical devices , such as instrument , are illustrate by the block diagram .
Each switch position sets the instrument up in one of the physical forms as an instrument for measurement , monitoring , diagnoses of disease , therapy of patients or surgery .
Most medical instruments fall into one of these categories .

Definition of a medical instrument•
A medical instrument performs a specific function on a biological system .
The function may be the exact measurement of physiological parameters such as pressure , flow , voltage , current , chemical PH , volume , weight , temperature & rate of change of these parameters .
The physiological parameters of the human body often have small magnitude or are otherwise difficult to process , a transducer ( illustrate in fig ) is necessary to transfer the physiological signal into a form that can be read by the signal processor .
The out put of the transducer can't be directly coupled to the out put device such as measurement , monitoring , therapy & diagnosis , etc.
It must be connected to the signal processor circuit in order to condition by amplifying & filtering or converted to digital signal .
The out put of the signal processor circuit is feed to the out put or display system in the form that the human operator can perceive , the best form for the display is numerical or graphical .
The control & feedback is require to adjust the transducer & signal conditioned to extract measure & direct the flow out for display , the control may be manual or automatic .

11. Course objective: The aims of this course are:
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- To learn the fundamental of the medical devices .
- Operator on optometry machines.
- Uses the apparatus of medical instrument.
- Maintenance & repair the machine .
12. Student's obligation Student must have attended to all required core course during academic year. They should take all quizzes and complete both main exams, assignment of weekly homework. Practically, a weekly experiment must be conducted, result and question must be discussed in groups, and submit a weekly report about their trail. Course project is final student paper should handed at final course through this student supposed to have plenty of information on this course

15. Student learning outcome: Student will expect to know basic optometry devices , and to be able use them in proper way.
They should eventually learn evenand to distinguish between different optometry devices
function and analyze circuit basic understanding of optometry devices is important even if the
designer does not intend to become a proficient optometry. In many real-life optometryprojects,
it is often necessary to communicate, and also negotiate, specifications. Therefore, a basic
understanding of devices will allow optometry to evaluate whether.. Outcomes of this course ,
enable student to learn function of devices and component that used in common devices,
student can also use different measures instrument and measure parameters, This course assist a
student to get a job in medical after graduation . student will learn and design basic circuit
which fit to life applications. Nevertheless, Student would be able to troubleshooting common
