Bezpečnost bude digitální Naše úsilí, předcházet pádům, snižovat jejich následky a chránit životy

většinou vychází z práce a z výzkumu biodynamiky, anatomie, technologie a

materiálů. Ale přestože jsme úspěšní ve vývoji inovativních materiálů, vždy se

najde oblast, jejíž otevření je pro nás výzvou.

Před několika lety jsme zahrnuli do našich výzkumu i digitální procesy.

Nejprve při analýzách a při vývoji. Použitím vysokorychlostních kamer,

akcelerometrů a dalších elektronických zařízení se jejich počet zvyšuje.

Jejich využití má za následek nové, lepší a sofistikovanější produkty. A jo ně

se s vámi chceme podělit.

POC je švédská společnost postavená na silné misi:

vyvíjet a vyrábět produkty, které předejdou úrazům a chrání život při

všech sportech, kde dochází k pádům.

V sezoně 2014/20 uvedeme na trh POC’s H.I.Sensor, který digitálně

monitoruje nárazy a následné deformace vystýlky a upozorní nositele na

nutnost výměny helmy. Systém H.I. nám dovoluje plně využít potenciál jádra

z materiálu EPP, schopného vícenásobně pohlcovat energie nárazů.

Systém je použit v helmě Skull Orbic Comp H.I. MIPS.

Další inovací jsou produkty POC ICE; ICE tag a a senzor nárazu. ICE tag je

přichycen na helmě a obsahuje QR kód, ze kterého může kdokoliv použitím

čtečky na mobilu, zjistit úplně lékařské informace o jeho nositeli, .A to i

v případě, že není možná komunikace s jeho vlastníkem.

Naše spolupráce s ICEdot zahrnuje i senzor nárazu, který je spárován

s mobilním telefonem. Senzor, uchycený na helmě, detekuje náraz jako

změnu síly/rychlosti, Pokud je tato změna kritická, aplikace vysílá zprávu na

vybraná čísla, včetně přesné GPS polohy, aby dal vědět, kde potřebujete

pomoc.

nafouknutí a doplnění vzduchu díky turbíně má mnoho dalších výhod. To

An in-mold helmet construction is very lightweight, but

lacks penetration resistance due to the thin shell. By

molding a sheet of aramid to the core, the low weight is

maintained while the protection is radically improved.

System and is used to reduce the rotational forces to

the brain in the case of an oblique impact. A normal

helmet is created to absorb vertical impacts very

efficiently, but is not as good at the rotational forces.

When subjected to an oblique impact, the MIPS system

absorbs these forces by allowing a small rotation of the

outer shell relative to the liner.

Through examining helmets used by World Cup alpine

racers, we identified that they were worn out in the front

caused by repeated impacts from the gates. The

violence was more severe than we had ever imagined

and the discovery led us to developing the Multi-

Impact Deflector Panels, featured in the new line of

Skull Orbic helmets. Our deflector panels decrease the

transmitted force of the impact, and increase the shock

absorbing capacity of the helmets. This ensures that

the helmet performance remains at the highest level

when it’s really needed: in a real crash. In the deflector

panel of the Skull Orbic Comp, we integrated our

patented VPD 2.0 that has extreme impact absorbing

properties, proven very efficient for repeated impacts

in our body armor collection. The Skull Orbic X

deflector panel is made of multi-impact EPP material.

JetForce JETFORCE TECHNOLOGY

On every start up, Thorax performs a complete

system diagnosis.

Once deployed, the airbag will remain lled for three

minutes before the fan automatically reverses and

deates the bag

JetForce is the result of a multiyear collaboration

between Black Diamond and PIEPS and is the first

avalanche airbag system to use jet-fan inflation.

Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, the

fan spins at 60,000 RPM to inflate the 200-liter

avalanche airbag in 4 seconds.

Because of its unlimited air supply, the JetForce system

can support larger volume airbags to maximize the

effect of inverse segregation. Inverse segregation states

that in an avalanche, larger objects tend to rise to the

surface and smaller ones will sink. JetForce deploys a

200-liter airbag to increase your volume, which reduces

the risk of being buried.

Due to the JetForce system’s unlimited air supply it is

also possible to maintain volume despite moderate

punctures and tears. Once deployed, the fan periodi-

cally tops up the airbag for three minutes before auto-

matically deflating the bag. The automatic deflation

aids in extraction, makes the airbag easy to repack,

and has the potential to create an air pocket if the victim

is buried.

The Thorax pack has three strategically placed air

intakes; the lower left sidewall of the pack, the back

panel and the mesh lining of the airbag pocket. The

battery has been specifically engineered to be able to

operate at very cold temperatures (-30C) and even at

low charge levels.

On every start up, Thorax performs a complete

system diagnosis.

VPD

VPD - ®VISCO-ELASTIC POLYMER DOUGH

The VPD (Visco-Elastic Polymer Dough) range is

highly impact absorbent, comfortable, ligthweight

and adapts to create an individual fit. VPD has given

us a completely new approach to developing body

armor and due to its high level of protection and the

ability to transition from soft to hard during impact,

we don’t have to choose between safety and

flexibility.

Lots of body armor may be lightweight but is not

optimal for repetative impacts. Some may take one

impact with good absorption, but a second impact to

the protector will transfer a much higher amount of

energy to the user, the third an even greater amount

and so on. VPD protectors retain the same high

scientists and specialists in spinal cord injuries.

The members of the POC Lab are carefully selected

This is POC POC was founded in 2005 and made its first entry,

addressing the ski racing market, at the ISPO trade

show where it also introduced its mission. POC’s new

ideas and innovative solutions to improve ski racing

safety, by reducing the force transmitted to the brain

and body in case of a crash, gained a lot of attention.

The concepts, technologies, and materials used and

implemented for the helmets and body armor were

developed in close collaboration with POC Lab; POC’s

scientific forum that consists of some of the world’s

foremost sports medicine experts, brain scientists and

specialists in spinal cord injuries.

At the Turin 2006 Winter Olympics, US alpine ski

racer, Julia Mancuso won the gold medal in giant slalom

and pictures of her wearing a POC helmet and goggles

were published all over the world. Since then, POC has

evolved and developed protection for different cate-

gories including freeskiing, snowboarding and mountain

bike disciplines.

POC recently announced the launch of AVIP - its

first specific road bike range. AVIP stands for: Attention,

Visibility, Interaction and Protection and is POC’s most

ambitious initiative to date, promoting safety for road

bike cyclists. From season 2014, POC has also part-

nered up with a UCI ProTour team.

POC refines products with constant feedback and

review from the team athletes that includes both X

Games, Olympic and World Championship medalists.

All together, the team athletes have won more than 50

medals in international contests such as the Olympics,

World Championships and X Games.

The most important part and reason for success

are proficient and committed employees. Among

the POC staff there is a range of experience and

perspectives, from industrial, fashion and graphic

designers, CAD and polymer engineers to communi-

cators, marketers and ambassadors - all with a huge

passion for the activities they develop products for.

POC has developed a strong reputation for gravity

sports protection and is today established in 25

countries. Throughout the years, POC has received

more than 40 prestigious international safety, design,

innovation and business awards.

The award winning Skull Orbic Comp helmet has

been further developed and equipped with a MIPS

system to reduce the rotational forces to the brain

in case of an oblique impact. The helmet also intro-

duces the The H.I. (Helmet Integrity) Sensor that

The Cortex DH is a lightweight full face helmet that

has an advanced carbon shell wrapped over POC’s

patent pending aramid reinforced multi-impact

EPP in-mold liner. The double overlapping shell and

POC’s patented VDSAP allows for a fully ventilated

helmet with maximum comfort, without sacrificing

penetration resistance. Cortex DH is equipped with

the patented MIPS system to reduce the rotational

forces to the brain in case of an oblique impact.

The Fornix Backcountry MIPS is a

Cornea offers a huge field of view and the soft PU

CARL ZEISS LENSES

Carl Zeiss is recognized and revered for the best-in-class optical

expertise in ophthalmic lenses, medical equipment and optics

for over one hundred years. POC’s Carl Zeiss lenses are made of

polycarbonate (PC) and have superior optical performance. All

combinations of tints and mirrors have been carefully selected to

minimize internal glare and to utilize the full effect of the base tint

benefits.

In POC’s Zeiss range you will find a full range of lens choices for

all conditions with everything from a dedicated lens for extremely

sunny conditions to the highly innovative Sonar lens for flat light

conditions.

Zeiss patent pending technology Sonar lens is available in a POC

exclusive VLT level for the best contrast perception, high brilliance

of colors and contours, especially at high speed and in changing

light conditions. All technical research and practical field-testing

has resulted in a lens, which improves visual acuity in all light

conditions.

VLT - VISIBLE LIGHT TRANSMISSION

VLT is a measurement that specifies the percentage of light

coming through the lens, reaching your eyes. A clear lens for dark

conditions has around 90% VLT whilst a very dark mirrored lens, for

sunny conditions, may have lower than 10% VLT. Most all round

lenses have between 30-60% VLT.

COMP SINGLE LENSES

The Comp series are developed specifically for racing and have a

single lens construction with a Cellulose Propionate (CP) lens to

minimize the optical distortion. POC’s double lens construction has

superior polymer materials and anti-fog/anti-scratch treatments but

a single lens can’t offer the same degree of protection against fog

and scratches.

COLORS VS. LIGHT CONDITIONS

The color spectrum runs from blue to violet, with many shades in

between. Color sensation and perception is individual, which leads

to a very subjective choice of lens color for varying conditions.

However, there are some basic rules within the color spectrum

that can enhance contrast. A lens with a yellow, orange, pink or

red color will block out more of the blue end of the color spectrum.

This will enhance contrast, enabling you to more clearly make out

shapes, objects and bumps in the terrain. These lenses are suitable

in low light, fog and flat light, but also in moderate light. In bright

light, dark tints will keep your eyes more comfortable.

A green or grey lens dampens the color spectrum evenly. This

leads to a natural feel where the color spectrum will be experienced

as normal.

NXT LENSES

NXT lenses are made from a proprietary material that is known as

”visual armor”. NXT was developed as a solution to military fighter

jet and helicopter pilots’ demands for a shatterproof canopy that

would not distort their vision.

All POC’s NXT lenses are equipped with a color vision-boosting

filter called HCD (High Chromatic Definition). HCD has an extreme

contrast enhancing effect and takes goggle lens clarity to a new

level. To keep your lens clean and clear, you will also find an

excellent Oleophobic/Hydrophobic treatment as well as an anti-

scratch and anti-fog treatment.

In addition to these unique features, NXT lenses also are

equipped with a Photochromatic filter, which enables the lens to

change the tint color depending on current light conditions. The 3P

lens (POC Partially Polarized) has a polarized effect that takes away

excessive glare while letting in enough reflection to distinguish snow

from ice.
