HISTORICAL PHASES OF PAKISTAN :

Both a nuclear power and important cricketing Nation , Pakistan has existed as an independent country for little more than 60 years, but has playing an important role in the historical epic of the indian subcontinent

1947-1951: 1947: Pakistan came into existence as a

sovereign state on 14th august 1947.The constituent Assembly, carved out of the existing central legislature , meet on 11th August and elects Muhammad Ali Jinnah as its president.

The government of India Act 1935 is to provid e the legal foundations for the new state till the framing on the constitution

On 11th August 1947 Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was elected unanimously as the President of the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan and the National Flag was formally approved by the Assembly.

Quaid-e-Azam passed away in karachi on september 11,1948.

1949: Constituent Assembly of pakistan

adots the OBJECTIVE RESOLUTION on march 12,1949,as a guide to future constitution modeled on the ideology of islam.The Objectives Resolution was a resolution adopted by the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan on 12 March 1949. Prime Minister, Liaquat Ali Khan, had presented it in the assembly on 7 March 1949.

1952-1960 Governor General Ghulam Muhammad dismisses the government of khwaja Nazimuddun and appoints Muhammad Ali as Prime Minister on April 17,1953During this period the controversy relating to national language continues and on sep 21,1954,the constituent assembly passes a resolution in favor of urdu and bengali on national languages

1961-1970New constitution was publisized in March ,Ntional assembly is ellected and Ayub khan takes oath as first president of pakistan under the new constitution.Pakistan peoples party is founde in lahore with zulfiqar ali bhutto as its chairman.

1971-1980India launches full-scale attack on East pakistan.Pakistan Army eventually surrenders on December 16.Bhutto is elected president in 1972Constitution of palkistan is enacted by the National assembly on april 10,1973

1980-1990General zia ul haq initiates his creation , the federal counsil , he declaresv himself succesful in a presidential referendum.President ghulam ishaq khan dissolves national assembly in august dismising benazir government

1991-2000Muhammad Khan Junejo,; August 18, 1932 – March 16, 1993 was the tenth Prime Minister of Pakistan, and an influential Sindhi figure in Pakistan. Nawaz sharif from power in october after a failed attemptb to sack general musharraf.

2000-2013Two formers Prime minister of pak, Nawaz sharif and Bhutto hold negotiationElections to senate are held in feb 2003.Ruling party wins most seats.In 2007, Benazir is targeted by terrorists. She survives blast at his rally in karachi but the second attack in Rwalpimdi proves fatal.

2012Prime minister gillani is disqualified by supreme court.National assembly completes its tenure on 16th march 2013General elections are scheduled for 11 may 2013.
