Mise en scene

Cave scene

Location The first shot is setting the scene such as right here in this image where it shows a high shot of the characters in the cave. This is used so the audience knows where the next scene is taking place.

Lighting The lighting in the cave is really low. There is a tiny bit of light coming from the girls helmets and this is why we can see the rain drops. The lighting is used to set the mood of the scene.

Movement – Acting The movement in the movie is used to show how scared the actors are and to show the audience how intense the scene is. The faster the movement of the character or the camera, the more intense the scene.

Props The props they use are mostly cave equipment and torches. Such as helmets, flashlights, ropes, harness, and maybe a pickaxe. Props are used to make the movie seem real and more entertaining. If props weren't used the movie wont be as realistic or enjoyable.

Makeup The makeup is used mainly for the monsters but is also used a bit on the actors. The makeup is used to make the movie scarier because if makeup was not used the movie would be low budget and unsuccessful and not very scary because the monsters wouldn't’t look as scary.
