GoalTo educate and change the behavior of the members in our community concerning the

environment.

Objective 1A newly created Environmental Club in Dyadkovychi School will begin to implement a year-long project focused on education the community about their ecological footprint and will then motivate the community into action.

Objective 3To create a cleaner and more environmentally friendly village through activities involving the entire community.

Objective 2To increase the understanding within our community of the issues facing the environment, their personal ecological footprint, and steps they can take to help reduce their ecological footprint.

Dirty Map• Organized a group of students to go

through the village taking pictures of the most littered places in our community

• Created a map of our village and posted the pictures to the map

• Posted the map around the village for community members to see and get involved in cleaning events

• Discussed the issue with the village head and the steps he can take to help keep our village clean

Ecological Footprint Seminar

• Trainer from Rivne Environmental NGO taught us about our environmental footprint and to help us calculate our individual footprint

• Played team building games

• About 30 students from three other schools from the surrounding villages also attended upon invitation

Plastic and Our Earth

• Created a brochure and presentation about how plastic is harmful to the Earth

• Presented information to the school and community about the dangers of plastic and discussed the ways of how community can get mobilized to help

Recycling in Action• Initiated a project which

encouraged students to bring in old clothes to be recycled into bags

• Trained students to sew

• Together we created bags to be used at the local store instead of plastic bags

Clean it Up!

• We encouraged the entire village to come out and help us clean up the public areas around our school

• Students, their parents, and even teachers came out

Sustainability • Create the Environmental Union of Village Schools in Rivnenskyy

Rayon that will promote the environmental awareness in the communities and organize appropriate events.

• Conduct Annual Re-Cycling Campaign

• Partner with local stores to use Stainable Bags on regular Basis

• Establish Peer-to-Peer Student mentoring program on Environmental issues

• Incorporated environmental classes into our school’s curriculum
